Rob. B, OK, you are correct in that there is a 5th edition. I walked up from the studio to my library and sure enough, I found the 5th edition of all places right next to the 4th edition. The 4th edition was May 1988 and had 365 pages. The 5th edition was August 1995 at 416 pages. It was 14 years ago and my memory at 66 years old (my birthday is today, August 31) is possibly fading a bit.

As a side note, I have now been working on my latest and probably last book over the last 5 years and it is getting close to completion. It is called, “The Complete Book of Golf Club Fitting and Design, The Principles, Procedures and Playability Factors”. I was always good at coming up with the longest book title names. Looks like it will be over 700 pages with over 500 drawings and photos. Look for it next year.

Rob. B, there were only 4 editions. The 4th edition was reprinted a number of times and it is possible, unbeknownst to me that they said 5th edition on a reprint. I am not aware of this, if it happened at all, so trust me, I only did 4 editions.

    Ralph,

Yo state that “Golf Club Repair in Pictures” went up to a 4th edition but when I go on Amazon I see there is a 5th edition. What is the story behind this?

    Thanks,

    Rob

My local Golf Galaxy has the 2nd Edition “Golf Club Fitting Plan” for sale for just under $17. Will that edition seem outdated when compared to the new edition coming later this year?

bassplayer7770, I am working on it as we speak. My realistic guess is September publication so I can haul it up and hand it out to the Golf Galaxy Retreat participants in upstate Minnesota where I get to do my talk every year to the store managers and many of our golf professionals.

I see that a new edition of the “Complete Golf Club Fitting Manual” is due in 2008. Is there an approximate date for release?

Bob, you want to get “The Complete Golf Club Fitting Manual”. This is one of the official PGA manuals and the other one is “Golf Club Design, Fitting, Alteration and Repair”. Good choice to someday soon attend a school.

    Ralph,

I have put clubs together for years and am indeed ready to attend a course of yours. Until that time I need to read on fitting a player for clubs. Which book should I start out with? And which of your 2 books are training manuals for the PGA?
