    The benefit with cutting is that the grips will be normal, ie, the hands will be at the normal place on the grip. gripping down might change this too much.

    And yes, the flex and swingweight will change.

    Question for this board. I read where driver lengths are shortened for better control from the butt end and I assume this changes the swing wt. and stiffness of the shaft. My question is why not just choke down the lengthed desired instead of shorting the shaft? What are the benefits if any?
