The mmb hosel have a double ending bore, both 370 and 355. The 370 is only glued, the 355 bore end will clamp to the 355 taper, metal against metal and then glued in addition. I guess there are two reasons for taper, ease of mounting and maybe more feel as there will be metal to metal and no glue in between in the very tip. I see no real differences.

For any club makers, I am going to buy the Maltby MMB irons and noticed they accomodate both the parallel and taper tips, I was wondering what is the difference between the two (playing characteristics)and which is preferable. (I will be using project x shafts)

Also would the taper tip need to be altered in order to work in the MMB hosel? and if so does that negate any advantage it has?
