bdereims, I asked Jim Yachinich, our head school instructor and resident shaft spec speciialist your question. Here is his answer. Ralph

For the shaft I would lean more towards the new True Temper GS-95 instead of the FST 90. In testing I find the FST combination flex shafts are fairly true to flex in the A flex but from there they do not maintain a normal stiffness progression that we would see in the True Temper shafts. From feedback I have seen on the Nippon shafts it seems that they maintain a similar flex progression as the True Temper shafts. Also Nippon shafts are constant weight shaft and the True Temper GS-95 both in taper tip and parallel tip versions are constant weight.

    Hi All, Hi Ralph,

Yesterday, I have played golf with a freind’s bag (not the bag but irons in it). He has Fourteen TC-550 / NS Pro 950 GH Regular irons. I was very impressed about them : butter like, easy to hit, great distance.

Golfworks has new Maltby TE Forged Head Iron in catalogue with pretty similar specs to TC-550 : cavity back, forged, shape, lie, and so son. Offsets seems less on TE.

    Do you confirm likeness ?

I have liked NS Pro 950 GH Reg feeling and accuracy. But not available in Golfworks store. What is the shaft in Golfworks shop having same specs ? I thought about FST 90 Reg.

    Thanks,

    Brice

PS : my bag is composed of F1 Forged with FST 125 Pro, I like irons but TC-550 are easiest and consistent to hit.
