The Power Point “buttons” are pretty convenient in certain locations; however, I put one on the bottom of my Trouble Out 3-Wood, and it didn’t last a single range session.

I’ve been doing some experimenting with lead tape recently, and I’ve found that it’s rather convenient. I built my clubs at 1/2” under standard, so you can imagine how light the swing weights are, and I was using irons at around D4 before I built my KE4s. With the KE4s, the first thing I’m doing is using two 8g weights in each, then using lead tape to get it up to my target swing weight. As for my hybrids and 3-Wood, the tape was my only option, and I don’t mind. Being comfortable with my clubs is more important than how they look. I used a couple strips of tape on the bottom of my KE4 V Driver too.

Hopefully, the heavier weights will work out for me.

Many thanks for this reply….I was hoping for some input like this, will give the buttons a try first then the ugly tape if this doesn’t work too well. Thanks, Flybob

Flybob, you can not leave it at C-6. You can either add lead tape to the back of the clubhead where you do not see it at address or use the better looking pre-made weight buttons that the GolfWorks sells in their catalog. You simply peel and stick them on.

I would like you to get it back to D-0, but C-9 would probably be OK in this shorter length. Let’s assume D-0. C-6 to D-0 is 4 swingweights or 8 grams of weight needed. !/2” lead tape by 5” long is equal to one swingweight, so you would need 20”. This sounds like a lot of tape but it will burnish down with a small wooden block quite nicely. Put the tape(or the buttons) on evenly from heel to toe about the center of the clubhead. Try to keep the tape as low as possible. I think you will really like the club at this swingweight.

I have just reduced the length of my CT-250 driver with “R” flex 250 shaft from 44.5” to 43.5” in an attempt to improve accuracy….this has changed the swingweight from D-1 to C-6…how will this effect how it plays and are there any suggestions on how I can improve this situation?
