keyser, the Dual Durometer light grip will still be lighter with the added tape. Yes, I think it could be a real playable club and he should be able to swing it faster and still have good head feel. Let me know how this works out for him?

I´m trying to build a really light driver for a senior. The lightest shaft I can think of is a prolaunch 45 at 44g(I´ve seen OEM´s use 35g shafts in Japan.. but I don´t know how to get them). I need a midsize grip, so I´m wondering if a dual durometer lite(39g) built up to midsize(7 total layers of double tape??) will be lighter than a tour velvet midsize(54g) with one layer of tape?
I´d be reducing his current driver weight of about 12 grams from the shaft, and 11 in the grip. Do you think it might make a very slight difference?
